Supercute Brewery Launches Black Is Beautiful Vol. 2 at New Harlem Brewing Taproom in Brixton
London’s craft beer scene is about to celebrate a significant milestone with the launch of Black Is Beautiful Vol. 2 at the newly opened Harlem Brewing Taproom in Brixton Market.
The Black Is Beautiful campaign, originally initiated by Marcus Baskerville of Weathered Souls Brewing, has grown into one of the most influential social initiatives in the beer industry. The campaign supports the National Black Brewers Association (NB2A), with participating breweries, including Harlem Brewing, pledging $1 per beer sold to the cause.
This exciting development is made possible through an innovative partnership between Harlem Brewing and our newest LBA member, Supercute Brewery. Formerly known as Friendship Adventure, Supercute Brewery has been rebranded following its acquisition earlier this year and now plays a pivotal role in bringing Harlem’s vibrant beer culture to the heart of Brixton.
Starting in July, beer enthusiasts have been able to enjoy Harlem Brewing’s signature “125th Street IPA,” along with other flagship beers, at the new taproom. This collaboration celebrates the deep cultural exchange between Brixton and Harlem—two neighbourhoods renowned for their diversity, cultural significance, and activism.
Celeste Beatty, founder of Harlem Brewing, expressed her excitement about the transatlantic partnership, stating,
“This collaboration is more than just beer; it’s a celebration of shared passions for craft, community, and culture.”
Supercute Brewery’s founder, Hammant Patel Villa, highlighted the natural connection between the two iconic neighbourhoods, saying,
“Our partnership with Harlem Brewing celebrates our common ground over a shared pint in our welcoming taproom.”
Designed with input from Harlem artists and Brixton architects Squire & Partners, the taproom captures the energy and history of Harlem. With a bold colour palette inspired by Harlem’s street art, murals of iconic landmarks, and music celebrating Harlem’s legacy, the space offers a unique cultural experience in Brixton.
This collaboration not only unites the heritage of both districts but also strengthens Supercute Brewery’s role in London’s craft beer community, showcasing how craft beer can bridge cultures and foster community spirit.
