Orbit Beers to Launch Rotbier as Part of White Label Series
Orbit Beers, based in South London, is set to release a new Rotbier on 3rd February 2025, expanding their White Label Series of limited-edition beers. The 5.0% ABV Rotbier is a German-style red lager inspired by the traditional brews of Franconia, bringing a unique touch of European brewing heritage to the UK market.
Orbit Beers’ Rotbier is a malt-forward, deep reddish-brown lager designed to provide comforting warmth during the final weeks of winter. Launching at the beginning of February, this beer draws from the centuries-old brewing traditions of Franconia, Germany, and is the perfect way to embrace the cold, dark days of the season.
Rotbier offers smooth biscuit malt flavours, paired with a light toffee sweetness and a gentle bitterness. Adding to its complexity, Orbit Beers has incorporated cherry ember smoked malts, giving the beer a subtle smoky quality, evocative of glowing embers on a crisp winter evening. The delicate notes of spicy and floral hops weave through the malt base, creating a harmonious and memorable drinking experience.

To create the Rotbier, Orbit Beers uses high-quality malts including Munich Malt, BEST Special X, Cherry Ember Smoked Malt, and BEST Red X. These ingredients contribute to the beer’s rich malt profile, slightly smoky flavours, and its signature red-brown hue. The Hallertauer Mittelfrueh and Pilgrim hops provide a subtle bitterness to balance the sweetness of the malts, while the beer is fermented with Swiss Lager Yeast for a clean, smooth finish that honours the classic German beer style.
Orbit Beers’ Rotbier is available in 330ml Vichy bottles from their online store and Orbit Beers Taproom in SE17, where it will also be available on tap.
