Gerald McDonald & Co. Scoops Agriculture, Food & Drink Gold
We’re pleased to share the news that Gerald McDonald Group – one of our valued trade supporters – has taken home Gold in the Agriculture, Food & Drink category at the UK Government’s 2025 Made in the UK, Sold to the WorldAwards.
Now in its third year, the award programme recognises standout UK exporters making an impact overseas. Gerald McDonald & Co. was commended for its sustained export growth, international supply chain capabilities, and commitment to innovation. The Basildon-based ingredients specialist now delivers to customers in more than 30 countries across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.
The award was accepted by Managing Director Maxim McDonald – the fourth generation of the family to lead the business – who commented:
Winning this award is a proud moment for the whole team at Gerald McDonald Group. Exporting has always been a vital part of our growth – it’s how we share our ingredients, values, and expertise with the world. This recognition not only celebrates our international success, but also the incredible partnerships and people that make it all possible.
Founded in 1917, the Gerald McDonald Group operates from a BRC AA–certified facility in Essex and supplies high-quality juices, purees, citrus products, herbs, spices, and essential oils to the global food and drink industries – including many UK breweries.
From the LBA’s perspective, this win is a clear reflection of the strength and professionalism behind the businesses we’re proud to call supporters. We extend our congratulations to the whole Gerald McDonald team and look forward to seeing their continued success both here in the UK and overseas.
