April 2025: Top 10 New London Beer Releases

Spring has officially landed, and with it comes another batch of standout new beers from some of London’s most consistent breweries. This month’s top releases saw plenty of excitement across hazy IPAs, fruited sours and hop-forward American pales, with strong showings from Gravity Well, Pretty Decent, and The Kernel.

As always, this list reflects the highest-rated new beers released in April by LBA members, as ranked by drinkers on Untappd. It’s a snapshot of what’s fresh, exciting, and well worth tracking down.

1. Gravity Well Brewing Co - The Casimir Effect V4

Another stellar entry in Gravity Well’s Casimir Effect series, V4 continues their exploration of big, bold New England IPAs. Hazy, juicy, and loaded with tropical fruit notes, it’s a smooth, soft-edged beer with real finesse and an assertive hop profile that keeps you coming back for more.

2. Pretty Decent Beer Co - Macc Loves A NEIPA 2025

A cheeky name and a textbook hazy delivery - this annual favourite returns with a 2025 refresh, offering layers of mango, citrus, and stone fruit wrapped up in that classic Pretty Decent pillowy mouthfeel. A crowd-pleaser through and through.

3. Tap East - Sabrocadabra

A bold, black IPA brewed with Sabro hops, this one brings an intriguing mix of roast coffee, dark chocolate and tropical coconut notes. Balanced bitterness and a smooth body make this Cascadian Dark Ale a welcome surprise on the list.

4. Pretty Decent Beer Co - Triple Denim Heat

Playful name aside, this is a serious NEIPA - bold and unfiltered, bursting with grapefruit and pineapple, underpinned by a sweet malt backbone. The warmth might be in the name, but the execution is cool and confident.

5. The Kernel Brewery - Centennial Yakima 2024

Showcasing the best of this year’s Yakima Centennial harvest, this American Pale Ale is clean, crisp, and packed with resinous pine and floral citrus notes. A timeless Kernel approach—precise and balanced.

6. The Kernel Brewery - Citra Yakima 2024

Another pale that lets the hops do the talking. Bright and zesty, this release focuses on the 2024 Citra crop from Yakima, delivering waves of lime, orange peel, and gentle dankness.

7. The Kernel Brewery - India Pale Ale Yakima 2024

Bumping things up a notch, this classic IPA takes the same fresh hops and adds extra heft. Dry, bitter, and packed with grapefruit and pine, it’s a no-nonsense West Coast-style IPA with London roots.

8. The Kernel Brewery - Simcoe Yakima 2024

With The Kernel's 4th entry this month is this earthy, piney and subtly tropical pale ale, using freshly imported Yakima Simcoe to full effect. One for fans of understated hop complexity and long finishes.

9. Gravity Well Brewing Co - Proxima Centauri

A vibrant fruited sour with a punchy blend of berries, this one lands tart but never sharp, with soft edges and a clean finish. Gravity Well’s sour game continues to quietly impress.

10. Hackney Church Brew Co. – Mum’s the Word

Released just in time for Mother’s Day, this American Pale is floral, citrusy, and subtle enough to suit a wide audience—an easy-drinking pale that’s brewed with charm and balance.

A Strong Month for Classic Styles
