An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the company in the role of Trade Quality Drayman & Brewery Operations, based at the Small Beer Brewery in South Bermondsey. We’re looking for someone who has a great work ethic, is consistent, reliable and wants to learn and do well. This is a full time permanent position, the ideal candidate will have had experience working in a brewery and driving in London. A keen eye for beer quality as well as cleanliness and tidiness are crucial! We are a London Living Wage employer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service: as a key contact for trade orders, maintaining customer communications and processing incoming trade orders to ensure that they are delivered on time and in full. Supporting the sales team to ensure all enquiries are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
  • Empty and full cask and keg stock management, cleaning and filling kegs, casks and minikegs to order, picking and packing orders for shipment, managing stock levels in line with sales requirements.
  • Driving the brewery van around London and further afield to deliver orders and set up/pack down events, maintaining face-to-face relations with trade customers, issuing payment reminders, installing and maintaining draught dispense installations and maintaining outstanding quality of beer in trade.
  • Preparing the brewery space for events and occasionally helping to run events: music/entertainment, weddings and corporate events.
  • Providing day to day support and holiday cover to other operations roles, including packing ecommerce orders, brewery taproom maintenance and brewing operations duties.


Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An eye for quality of product and service, exceptional customer service skills
  • Fantastic communication skills and a positive attitude, an analytical thinker
  • Naturally clean, tidy and organised
  • A willingness to learn and throw yourself into all tasks
  • Valid, clean UK driving licence, a forklift licence is a plus but not essential


Job details:

We’re a fantastic close knit team and will make you feel very much at home. Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and plenty of nice perks along the way!
