London’s brewing scene has once again made its mark, with LBA member breweries taking home an incredible 50 awards at the 2025 Untappd Community Awards. Recognising the most-loved beers and breweries based on Untappd user ratings, these awards highlight the quality, consistency, and creativity of the capital’s independent brewers.

As we exit the year's shortest month, we welcome the warmer weather that March has brought with it so far. Looking back at February's new beer releases we're delighted that the London brewing scene continues to deliver, with a fresh batch of standout beers hitting the taps.

On Friday, 21st February 2025, a group of London Brewers Alliance members had the opportunity to step inside the historic walls of French & Jupps, Great Britain’s oldest maltster, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. With a 336-year heritage, French & Jupps has played a key role in shaping the UK’s brewing industry, supplying expertly crafted malts to brewers across the country. The visit offered attendees a rare chance to explore the full malting process, from barley intake to steeping, germination, roasting, and finally, the production of their renowned Crystal and Patent malts.

LBA trade member Murphy & Son has announced an expanded partnership with the University of Nottingham’s International Centre for Brewing Science, reinforcing its role as one of the UK’s leading technical resources for brewers. This collaboration will see Murphy & Son’s laboratory and R&D team relocate to the university, unlocking cutting-edge research facilities and enhancing the technical support available to breweries.

The London Brewers Alliance exists to promote excellence in all aspects of brewing within London. We aim to achieve this through the following:

promoting its member breweries.

participating in any suitable event that promotes members interests.

promoting the sale of beer brewed by its members.

supporting the improvement of brewing skills among the membership.

co-operating with any other body that is deemed to have similar aims.

Membership

Membership

Membership is open to all established commercial brewers within the M25 (plus founder members as previously agreed)

Associate Membership may be applied for by anyone brewing or intending to brew commercially within the M25 converting to Full Membership after 6 months of commercial brewing.

Trade Membership is open to any organisation that provides goods or services to London's brewing industry.
